Judy Stenmark is the Director General of the Global Self-Care Federation. Judy previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Osteoporosis Australia and the International Osteoporosis Foundation respectively. She is a qualified health specialist and holds a Master’s in Public Health awarded by the University of New South Wales, Australia. Judy is based in Geneva, Switzerland.

Nicola Brink is the Chief Executive Officer of the Self-Care Association of South Africa. She has 25 years of sales and marketing experience in the South African pharmaceutical industry. Nicola has filled various leadership and other industry roles over the years. She is widely networked in the pharmaceutical industry, and in the healthcare regulatory space. Nicola is a Board Member of the Global Self-Care Federation based in Geneva, Switzerland.

Kimberley Hunt

Kimberley has 30 years of experience in the consumer health industry. She has performed multiple leadership roles within GSK Consumer Healthcare (now Haleon), holding 17 positions across all commercial functions and many geographies. She has a diverse career progression with 18 years in US, 8 years in global roles and 4 years in South Africa as the General Manager. She is 2022 President of Self-Care Association of South Africa, and she has been an executive committee member since 2019.
Kimberley has committed her work life to serving consumers and customers in self-care whilst building strong cultures that support high performance and employee fulfilment. She does this with gratitude, joy, grit and determination.
Kimberley is also passionate about putting people at the heart of everything she does and has a deep commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. In 2018, she was awarded with the Financial Times and Heroes Champions of Women in Business Award (UK).

Manoj Raghunandanan is President, Global Self Care and Consumer Experience Organization (CxO), and serves on the Consumer Health Leadership Team.
An inspirational, people-first leader, Manoj leads the $5B global Self Care organization and is responsible for setting a clear strategy and building the pipeline so the franchise continues its growth as a Consumer Health stronghold, with iconic brands including TYLENOL®, ZYRTEC® and NICORETTE®. With a servant leadership mindset, Manoj is adept at identifying the right marketing, commercialization and innovation solutions to grow in lead markets.
In addition, Manoj oversees an organization of subject matter experts across data sciences, insights and marketing – the Consumer Experience Organization (CxO). With Manoj’s leadership, this team harnesses the power of our Consumer Health expertise and data-driven insights to unlock meaningful consumer experiences and advance capabilities that will accelerate growth and effectiveness around the world. Manoj is highly respected for his ability to create team dynamics where individuals feel heard and valued. Building on that success, he is now leading the sector’s transformation into a digital-first organization.
Manoj joined J&J Consumer Health in 2007, through the Pfizer Consumer acquisition. He has since held various marketing roles in the Consumer Health and Medical Device sectors with increasing responsibility for driving iconic brands, including: LISTERINE®, TYLENOL®, ACUVUE®, NICORETTE® and ZYRTEC®.
Manoj is a vocal advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion at work, across the industry and in his personal life. With this passion, he co-founded J&J’s Diversity Marketing Team and sits on a number of boards including: ANA’s Alliance for Inclusive and Multicultural Marketing, Google’s Health Marketing and Advertising Board, and the Global Self Care Federation executive board. He is also a proud member of the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., and Jack and Jill Father’s Auxiliary.
Manoj earned his MBA at the Fox School of Business at Temple University and speaks regularly on DE&I, leadership and marketing at industry forums and at academic institutions.

Boitumelo Semete-Makokotlela
South African Health Products Regulatory Authority
Boitumelo is the CEO of the South African Health Products Regulator. She has a Ph.D. (Biochemistry) and holds MSc in Management Finance and Investment. She is also a fellow of the African Leadership Initiative. Within the technology innovation space, she was the Executive Director at CSIR Biosciences and prior to that she managed a biotechnology incubator at The Innovation Hub Management Company. She was with McKinsey & Company for 2 years as a McKinsey Leadership Fellow. Prior to that, she was at the CSIR as a Senior Researcher. She completed her postdoctoral research at the University of Nottingham and EPFL, Switzerland. She has published as a first author and co-author in scientific publications, review articles and book chapters. She sits on a number of scientific advisory committees and Board of Directors. She is also involved a number of thought leadership projects such as the African Union Strategy for Health Research, the East Africa Community Bioeconomy strategy development team and WHO Expert Panel on scaling health Innovations in Africa. She is also a member of the Ministerial Advisory Committee at the National Department of Health.

Paul Gama

Paul leads P&G’s global personal health care portfolio, including trusted brands such as Metamucil, Pepto-Bismol, Neurobion, Prilosec OTC, and Vicks—currently the number one retail over-the-counter brand in the world. Prior to his global leadership role, Paul led P&G’s North America PHC portfolio for three years and has been key to P&G’s improved business growth and innovation success.
Paul is among P&G’s most experienced leaders in the health care space. With more than 25 years in health care, he has driven market-leading results as well as consistently strong year on- year innovation plans, underpinned by a keen focus on consumer needs. Paul joined P&G in 2017, bringing with him an impressive résumé and track record of success at industry leaders such as Bayer, Novartis, and Reckitt Benckiser. A native of Canada, Paul received his Bachelor’s degree at McMaster University, and his MBA from the University of Rochester. In addition to his responsibilities at P&G, Paul serves on the Board of Directors of the Global Self-Care Federation and the United Negro College Fund.

Michael Mol

Michael Mol didn’t go for career counseling, which could explain why he’s a medical doctor, an executive producer & presenter, a health tech-preneur and founder of Hello Doctor, global speaker, author and most recently CEO of TruthTV. A trauma doctor turned TV presenter, Michael traded the emergency room for the small screen and anchored Top Billing for more than a decade, scooping up several critically acclaimed awards along the way.
He melded his passion for medicine and media and produced two TV series: “Hello Doctor” and “The Dr. Mol Show.” Watched by over a million people weekly, the show was part of a bigger vision to give every South African access to personal, affordable and quality healthcare through immediate access to doctors via their mobile phones. That vision became a reality with “Hello Doctor” – a mobile digital healthcare company, giving anyone access to a doctor anytime, anywhere, on any phone, in any language.
In November 2020, he launched a new venture called TruthTV – South Africa’s first subscription video on demand service focusing on Faith & Family entertainment with a vision to rekindle wholesome societal values.
Michael is an Oxford Alumni, a South African Brand ambassador and has just written and released “Apples of Gold” – his second book on health and wellbeing on the back of his first best-seller “Your Best Life.” He speaks to audiences around the world and has been recognized as one of the South Africa’s top business speakers with a Hall of Fame distinction.
Michael lives in Cape Town, South Africa with his wife Jacqui, their three children: Josh (21), Rachael (18) and Naethan (13) and is no longer on the safe side of 50.

Tamara Rogers

Tamara Rogers is the Global Chief Marketing Officer for Haleon (formerly GSK Consumer Healthcare) – which includes a fantastic portfolio of brands including Sensodyne, Parodontax, Polident, Voltaren, Panadol, Advil, Otrivin, Theraflu and Centrum. She also oversees the Design Team, Media, Marketing Capability, Expert Marketing, Digital Commerce and CBIA (Consumer Business Insights & Analytics).
Tamara joined GSK Consumer Healthcare in 2018 as Region Head EMEA.
Prior to joining the Group, Tamara spent 25 years at Unilever having joined as a Management Trainee in the UK and rapidly assumed positions of seniority. She held significant leadership positions such as EVP Region Head Personal Care Unilever N America and prior to that EVP Global Deodorants Category.
Tamara has nearly 30 years’ experience in FMCG with numerous commercial roles across marketing, advertising, customer development and general management, in local, regional and global capacities. Her experience includes the development of business growth strategies, strategic portfolio management, innovation development, branding, design, customer development and trade marketing.
Tamara studied Physiology at Edinburgh University and has a lifelong passion for science, health and wellness. She is married with two grown up children, loves all sports and has been a Chelsea Football Club season ticket holder for more than twenty-five years

Deon Schoombie
Consumer Healthcare Products Australia
With a 30 year background in health and the pharmaceutical industry, Deon Schoombie has been the CEO of Consumer Healthcare Products Australia, the peak body for the nonprescription medicines industry in Australia since 2010. He is also a member of the board of the Global Self Care Federation, a member of the Advisory Board of the National Institute of Complementary Medicines (NICM) and a director on the board of the Australian Self-Care Alliance.
During this time he has advocated for the adoption of self-care as a cornerstone in national health policy and a national health literacy strategy as a key driver of better health outcomes. He believes responsible self-care is vital in improving individual and public health outcomes and contributing towards a sustainable healthcare system.
Deon qualified as a medical and TCM practitioner and his career journey moved through clinical practice, hospital management, private business management, healthcare promotion and the consumer healthcare products industry.

Jurate Svarcaite
Association of the European Self-Medication Industry
Jurate Svarcaite, MSc, MPharm,
As Director General, Ms Svarcaite is responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership while managing the day to day operations of Association of the European Self-Care Industry (AESGP) and its ongoing relationships with its member associations, companies and other stakeholders, as well as representing the self-care industry in various International, European and national forums. The Association of the European Self-care Industry (AESGP) represents the manufacturers of non-prescription medicines, food supplements and self-care medical devices in Europe, an area also referred to as consumer healthcare products.
Her previous work experience includes the Secretary General position at the Pharmaceutical Group of the EU (PGEU), an umbrella organization representing community pharmacy in Europe, the head of Pharmaceutical Care Department in a major pharmacy chain in Lithuania.
Ms. Svarcaite received her Master in Pharmacy degree from Kaunas University of Medicine, Kaunas, Lithuania. She went on to earn her Master of Science degree in Pharmacy Practice from The School of Pharmacy, University of London.

Scott Melville
Consumer Healthcare Products Association - USA
Scott Melville is the president and chief executive officer of CHPA and leads the organization’s efforts to empower self-care by preserving and expanding choice and availability of consumer healthcare products, including OTC medicines, dietary supplements and consumer medical devices.
Prior to joining CHPA, Melville served as senior vice president of government affairs and general counsel for the Healthcare Distribution Alliance (formerly HDMA), representing pharmaceutical wholesale distributors.
Melville previously served in various public affairs and legal roles for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies Sterling-Winthrop, Hoffmann-LaRoche, and Cephalon. Melville began his professional career as a legislative assistant and appropriations committee associate on the staff of retired U.S. Congressman Jerry Lewis (R-Calif.).
He earned his bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from Bucknell University, and his juris doctorate from George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia School of Law. He serves on the boards of the Global Self-Care Federation and the CHPA Educational Foundation.

Juan Thompson
Latin American Association of Responsable Self-Care
Juan has a degree in Government and International Affairs from the Argentinean Business University (UADE), a MBA in Government Affairs from Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) in Brazil and a MSc in Sustainable Development from the University of Sussex in England. He has more than ten years of experience in the analysis of the main health institutions and stakeholders, regionally and internationally, and their impact on the policy formulation process in Latin America, mainly in the area of health and self-care. As Executive leader in different regional Associations, Juan has contributed and participated in several high level meeting and projects with the United Nations, the Pacific Alliance, Mercosur, Codex Alimentarius, the Latin American Parliament, the Central American Integration Process and the Pan American Health Organization, among others. He currently serves as Director General of ILAR (Latin American Association of Responsible Self-Care) and Member of the Board of Directors of the Global Self-Care Federation (GSCF), entities committed to promoting self-care internationally.

Abbie Lennox
Bayer
Abbie Lennox is the Head of Regulatory, Medical, Safety & Compliance (RMSC) for Bayer’s Consumer Health Division and is a member of the Consumer Health Executive Committee. She is responsible for end-to-end regulatory affairs and medical affairs, R&D quality, overall safety, compliance and governance across the product portfolio.
Abbie received a first-class BSc in Biomedical Chemistry & Science and holds over 18 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical and consumer health industry, working at GSK, 3M and RB where she assumed R&D leadership roles of increasing responsibility driving innovation, regulatory competitive advantage and product compliance across consumer health.
Abbie has a passion for self-care, through enabling consumers access to safe, credible, evidence-based ways to manage their everyday health and wellbeing.
Abbie is married with two children. She is based at Consumer Health’s global headquarters in Basel, Switzerland.

Alan Main
Immediate Past Chairperson Global Self-Care Federation
Alan Main has more than 30 years of marketing and general management experience in the Consumer Health and Medical Device fields, initially with Stafford Miller/Block Drug (GSK). He then moved to Merrell Dow (Sanofi) and the London Rubber Company. In 1992, he joined Roche Consumer Health where he took on positions of increasing responsibility in the United Kingdom, South Africa and the Asia-Pacific region. Following the acquisition of Roche Consumer Health by Bayer in 2004, Alan continued to occupy key management roles, including Region Head for Asia Pacific and Europe. In 2010 Alan transferred to the medical device business of Bayer as Global President for Bayer Medical Care for six years. He was appointed to his last position as a member of the SANOFI Executive Committee and Global Head of the Consumer Healthcare business in October 2016. Alan is a citizen of the United Kingdom and permanent resident of South Africa. He serves on the board of ALK in Denmark, the African Leadership Foundation, News-Decoder and is the immediate past-Chair of the US Board of the National Theatre of Scotland. He is also is immediate past Chair of the Global Self-Care Federation. Alan is also a senior advisor to the impact investment group Bamboo Capital Partners and the private equity group, Advent International. Alan was appointed as a GlobalScot by the First Minister in 2011. Alan has a BA (Hons) in International Marketing from Thames Polytechnic in London, and has completed various executive and leadership development programs at London, Harvard and Columbia Business Schools, as well as INSEAD (Asia)

Micah Naidoo

Micah Naidoo has been Head of Africa for Sanofi Consumer Healthcare since July 1, 2017. Previously Micah’s corporate career included, General Manager of Flavoured Alcoholic Beverages at SABMiller a position he held from May 1, 2011 based in South Africa. Prior to that Mr. Naidoo served as Head of Marketing for Bayer Healthcare in China, which followed his role as Global Brand Leader based in the USA. Before this he worked for Roche Consumer Health in South Africa and then Switzerland, before the unit was acquired by Bayer. Micah began his career with Unilever in South Africa and has a combined FMCG and OTC work history of over 23 years. He holds an undergraduate degree in Chemistry and Economics from Rhodes University and is an MBA alumnus of Wits University and the Rotterdam School of Management.

Josephine Fubara

Chief Science Officer, Sanofi Consumer Healthcare
Dr Fubara is the Chief Science Officer for Sanofi’s Consumer Healthcare business, where she leads the R&D organization responsible for the delivery of science-based and consumer-inspired solutions for pain, allergy, digestive wellness, cough/cold, and physical & mental wellness, representing €4.5 billion (2021) of business. Her team is also responsible for Rx to OTC switch and driving the science agenda for Sanofi CHC.
She is an award-winning R&D executive and respected leader with over 22 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, establishing herself as a subject matter expert in R&D transformations, Rx to OTC Switch, strategic partnerships, product development, technology platforms, commercialization, and alliance governance models.
Prior to Sanofi, Josephine was the Global Head of Therapeutics, R&D at Bayer Consumer HealthCare and spent 18+ years in various technical and business roles at Whitehall Robins, Wyeth, and Pfizer Consumer Healthcare, having worked with global teams in various parts of the world, including North America, Europe and Asia.
Born in Nigeria, Josephine obtained a Pharmacy degree from the University of Benin, Nigeria and a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics from the Medical University of South Carolina.

Deepa Maharaj
ITG Chair - South Africa
Deepa is a passionate pharmacist by training having achieved her PhD in Pharmacy and authoring a number of peer reviewed articles. She has 18 years pharmaceutical industry experience mainly with health and wellness products working for a number of multi-national companies. Most of her tenure has been spent in building and shaping the healthcare and regulatory frameworks in Africa by championing practical and efficient regulatory pathways that ensure accessibility of medicines in Africa. She has been active as a member and chair in many trade and other associations such as the Africa Medicines Regulatory Harmonisation (AMRH) working groups, Self-Care Association of South Africa, Global Self Care Federation Africa Steering Committee, MENAPSMI NWA WG to name a few and most recently some COVID taskforces to deliver her vision. She recently served on the B4SA COVID taskforce to champion the initiatives during the pandemic and also serves as the co-chair of the Africa Self Care forum under the auspicious of the Global Self Care Federation.
She is currently, the Chair of the Industry Task Group, a group whose primary purpose is to represent the Health Products industry seeking alignment, co-ordination, and agreement on, inter alia, matters related to the development of policy, legislation and principles affecting applications, registration, control, and enforcement of Health Products, amongst the members of the ITG. The ITG focuses on strengthening and maintaining effective communication between the Regulatory Authority and health products industry and to positively influence the regulatory environment in both a proactive and reactive manner.
Deepa believes in empowering woman in Africa and ensuring they take their rightful leadership place in society and the workplace.

Evah Amwayi
Kenya Association of Pharmaceutical Industry
Dr. Evah Amwayi is a seasoned Regulatory Affairs professional with regional exposure in fast moving consumer pharmaceutical products, managing East and West Africa. She is skilled and passionate in Regulatory Affairs, government affairs, pharmacovigilance, quality control and strategic public relation planning. She is experienced in advocacy for health regulations and legislation and policy development in the healthcare industry. She is the Appointed Executive Secretary of Kenya Association of the Pharmaceutical Industry (KAPI), and global Self-care federation (GSCF) Africa committee Chair. Evah is passionate about medication access and over the counter medicines regulation and is highly engaged with policy makers around Africa to ensure self-care policies are in place to deliver Universal Health Coverage promoting healthier populations.

Sham Moodley

Sham Moodley is a community pharmacist in the Durban South Basin area.
His academic background includes BSc (Pharmacology) from University College Dublin Ireland), BPharm (UKZN), a Postgraduate Diploma (HIV/AIDS) from Stellenbosh University, a Masters Cum Laude from Stellenbosh University and a PhD at UKZN.
He was recognized as the South African Pharmacy Council’s National Pharmacist of the Year in 2008 and Community Pharmacist of the Year 2019.

Soufia Hanna
SOUFIA HANNA, Senior Regional Director Regulatory Affairs- Health, Home & Hygiene.
She has been with Reckitt for over 24 years, developing her experience in different functions, including Sales, Marketing, Market access, Compliance, Quality, and Regulatory/ Government Affairs.
Soufia has supported five (5) major company acquisitions, namely: RB (BHI in the UK, Adams Pharmaceutical in the US, SSL (Durex/ Scholl) , Paras Pharmaceutical in India, and Schiff in the US); ensuring the smooth transfer of licenses with no business interruption. Her area of responsibility over the years has included over 80 countries in the Middle East, Africa, Turkey , West and South Asia. Soufia’s medical background , MBA and her experience in several different functions has been of great help in developing the Healthcare category in the Middle East.

Dr Sarah Onyango is the Senior Technical Advisor, Self-Care at PSI, and is responsible for leading and coordinating PSI’s technical, research and programmatic self-care portfolio. She is also the Project Lead and Secretariat Director of the Self-Care Trailblazer Group (SCTG), a coalition of more than 500 individuals and organizations that advocates for advancing self-care at the national and global level, in support of UHC.
Sarah has over 20 years’ experience leading advocacy and programming for sexual and reproductive health and rights, with a focus on safe abortion care, contraception, adolescent sexual and reproductive health. She joined PSI from the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), where she served as Technical Director and managed IPPF’s global technical leadership team. She has led international SRHR organizations and programmes at the country and regional levels with industry leaders such as Ipas, Planned Parenthood Global, USAID and IPPF. She also worked with the Ministry of Health in Kenya and has served as a technical representative at WHO, UNFPA, FIGO, the IBP consortium and other international fora.
She is a medical doctor, with a Master of Public Health from the University of Nairobi, Kenya and a Master of Arts in Health Research from Lancaster University, United Kingdom.

She is 1st Vice Chairman and CEO of LiveWell Initiative LWI, a self-sustaining nonprofit organization which is a member of the United Nations Global Compact in good standing. She is a Full Member of the Egyptian Organisation of Pharmacy EOP, member of the American Pharmacists Association APhA, past Secretary General of the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists WAPCP, Convener of the Global Public Health University GPHU and an Internship Trainer for Masters and Doctoral Public Health Degree Programmes at the prestigious Harvard School of Public Health in Boston USA. She is a visiting Doctoral Research Supervisorand ‘Opponent’ Faculty at the University of Helsinki, Finland. She is currently a visiting Faculty in some Egyptian Universities including the Egypt Russia University ERU, and is the Country Representative of GIANT USA, a Healthcare Organisation.
In April this year she was appointed as the Honorary Ambassador to Africa for the Republic of Egypt, in the Profession of Pharmacy, and admitted as a Full Member of the Egyptian Organisation of Pharmacy (EOP) with all its rights and priviledges.

Bisi who is currently rated above 55% of all Researchers quoted on global ResearchGate platform, has published several articles in high impact open access international Scientific Journals. She sat on the Faculty of the Economist Conferences’ Healthcare in Africa; and is a two-time International Award winner of the IATDM/CT (International Association of Therapeutic Drug Monitoring and Clinical Toxicology). She is also an inaugural Faculty Member of the Nigerian Stock Exchange NSE GMT Graduate Management Trainee Programme to date, and Lead Trainer in the Duke of Edinburgh Awards (DofE) in Nigeria; She is a Mentor for WIMBIZ (Women in Management, Business) and Public Service) and the Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Training Programme TEEP. She has trained over 1,000 Pharmacists in Certificate Courses, and is a Postgraduate Trainer of Pharmacists. Bisi has served as Council Member, PCN and Board Member of FMC Bauchi and Federal NeuroPsychiatric Hospital FNPH Maiduguri. She founded the Global Pharmacists Mentoring Platform AWMC (Agathe Wehrli Mentoring Chair, launched in Dusseldorf Germany on October 5th 2015.
WORK ON COVID-19: She initiated and designed Study Protocols for COVIID-19 Response in Africa, which has earned several Peer Reviewed Open Access highimpact International Journal Publications on COVID-19.
WORK ON HEPATITIS:
Bisi is Deputy National Coordinator of the Civil Society Network of Viral Hepatitis in Nigeria CiSNVH.
- In October 2017 she was globally honored as a GLOBAL CHANGEMAKER2017 in Hepatitis C
- Bisi received a Commendation Letter from the Presidency at Aso Rock Villa in 2017, for her organisation’s work on Hepatitis.
- Her organisation LiveWell Initiative LWI has trained over 4,500 women from 18 African countries, as Hepatitis Champions including 450 lady pharmacists from Egypt, 120 Women in Mauritius including the Mayor of Quatre Bornes, 100 Lady Pharmacists and Clergy women in Lagos & Abuja, 70 young pharmacists including Rwanda, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Zambia etc and more than 70 low income low literacy women who have never been schooled.
- In an Advocacy for Hepatitis Programme in 2021, she co-hosted the First Ladies of Africa at the #WHO Session, #ICASA2021 Conference in South Africa under the auspices of the Women in Hepatitis Africa WIHA – a subsidiary of LWI.

Dr Ngozwana is CEO of Kiara Health, a South African based Africa-focused healthcare company. He is an international expert on the African Pharmaceutical industry and has worked with both the private and global public health organizations. He consulted to the World Health Organization (WHO), United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the United States Pharmacopeia Convention (USP). He co-authored the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Plan for Africa. The plan was the output of the extensive research and analytical work he conducted on the African pharmaceutical industry. He co-authored the Ethiopian Pharmaceutical Sector Strategy and Action Plan and the pharmaceutical sector strategies of several countries. Stafford has been in the ICT industry for more than 25 years. Stafford began his career as a software developer & technology analyst for Telkom and thereafter, became the National Software Strategist for Dimension Data.
Stafford has held various other technology leadership positions in his career, such as Co-CEO, co-founder and strategist for Redstar Networks, the Product Marketing Director for Novell South Africa, a Global Corporate Business Strategist for Novell Inc. based in the USA (Utah) and returning to SA after 6 years to become Managing Director for Novell Sub-Saharan Africa.
Thereafter he joined Google, established Google’s first South Africa presence and became Google’s first Sub-Saharan Africa leader. Stafford built the first Google SA team, launched several of Google’s mainstream platforms, prepared all application services in unison with the World Cup Organizing Committee to ensure SA services were updated and available on all Google’s applications. He and the team compiled, published and maintained Google’s first African strategy.
After leaving Google, Stafford established several leading technology startups; notably “thumbzup” where he and his team invented several world-first financial services (fintech) payment technologies, raised international venture capital (via Visa Inc and Entré Capital) and also launched that fintech business in several global markets (partnering closely with leading international banks).
He also served on the board of Advtech for 7.5 years as an independent non-executive director (and member of the investment and risk subcommittees).
Stafford is now known as a startup angel investor, executive-MBA guest lecturer (GIBS, Henley, UJ/Wits business schools), and international keynote speaker.

Sachin Nanavati

Sachin is a healthcare sales leader and entrepreneur. He is currently Head of Industry on the Pharma/OTC vertical at Google. Prior to joining Google, Sachin was the Co-founder and CEO of Docphin. Sachin led a team of engineers, UX designers and biz dev to build a digital media platform with over 60,000 physician members. Docphin was selected by Apple as one of the “Best New Apps for Medical Professionals” in 2014. In January 2016, Docphin was acquired by HealthTap. Sachin led the end-to-end acquisition process.
Before co-founding Docphin, Sachin was a Senior Consultant at IQVIA (fka IMS Consulting Group) managing global pricing and market access engagements for Pharmaceutical clients primarily in oncology.

In addition to being a 3-time Ironman Triathlete and certified professional tennis instructor, Doreen is an adventure-holic and has a serious case of wanderlust. Doreen has paraglided off a mountain in Venezuela, lived with and taken care of lion cubs in South Africa, climbed an ice-covered volcano in Chile, rappelled a cliff and scaled underground waterfalls in the caves of Belize, trekked Silverback Gorillas in the mists of Rwanda, zip-lined and rafted her way across Costa Rica, boated on the Panama Canal, came face to face with Great White Sharks off the coast of Africa, has completed sugar-cookie surf torture and log evolutions led by the US Navy SEALs, climbed Mt. Sinai and explored underground tombs in Egypt, and was 1 of less that 350 people in 2019 to ice climb on Alaska’s Mendenhall Glacier.
When not circling the globe, Doreen remains dedicated to fitness and sports and is an active member at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church. She rounds out her life with being a wife, bonus mom, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, mentor, and servant.

Princess Nothemba Simelela

Assistant Director-General, Special Advisor to the Director- General: Strategic Priorities Office of the Director General World Health Organization (WHO)
Dr Simelela, from South Africa, is WHO’s Assistant Director- General and Special Advisor to the Director-General for Strategic Priorities. She oversees the Organization’s work on cervical cancer elimination, gender, equity, and human rights, and youth. In her prior role, she served as WHO’s Assistant Director-General for Family, Women, Children and Adolescents.
Dr Simelela has more than 30 years of experience as an obstetrician, academic, advocate and government official, and has previously served as Special Advisor to the Vice President of the Republic of South Africa on Social Policy, where she supported the multisectoral, governmentwide response for HIV.
Dr Simelela joined the National Department of Health (South Africa) after qualifying as the country’s first black female gynaecologist. She worked for more than 20 years in the Department of Health, initially as a senior lecturer and clinician in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the Medical University of Southern Africa, and has had a distinguished career both in government and as a private medical doctor.
Other previous senior leadership roles held by Dr Simelela include serving as the Chief Executive Officer of the South African National AIDS Council, and as the Director of Technical Knowledge and Support for the International Planned Parenthood Federation.

Mosima Mabunda

Mosima is a General Manager and Head of Wellness at Vitality South Africa. Vitality is a science based behavior change programme that rewards its members for making healthy lifestyle choices. In her role as General Manager for Wellness, she works with cross-functional teams – to apply clinical, actuarial and behavioral science-to create interventions that improve the health and wellbeing of Vitality members.
Mosima has extensive experience in the public and private healthcare sectors spanning multiple countries including South Africa, the United Kingdom and several countries on the African continent. She also has significant experience from her time working for leading global management consulting firms, McKinsey, and Accenture. It is this exposure that adds depth/diversity to her experience and makes her a leading voice on wellness. She is passionate about health inclusion and Universal Health Care, and strongly believes that programmes such as Vitality play a key role in making UHC a reality.
Her role includes tackling the challenge of non-communicable diseases, smoking cessation, researching insights into mental health and physical activity and the importance of nutrition in managing wellness. Ryan Noach

Dr Ryan Noach is the Chief Executive Officer Discovery Health, appointed to this role in January 2020 after serving as Deputy CEO in the business for more than 5 years. Ryan joined Discovery Health in 2008 in the provider relations area, and became Chief Operating Officer of Discovery Health in 2009. During 2018 and 2019, Ryan was seconded to Discovery Bank, in the capacity of Deputy CEO of the Bank, to support the Banking team through the product finalization, build completion, business readiness and launch period. Ryan was previously the Chief Operating Officer and an Executive Director of the Netcare Hospital Group, having held various leadership roles across Netcare. His exposure to leadership in both the funding and provider sides of private healthcare, as well as more broadly in Banking and payments, unlocks useful insights.
Ryan qualified as a medical practitioner at Wits University in 1997 and pursued a post graduate career in emergency medicine and disaster management. He completed the Diploma in Primary Emergency Care and attended the Executive Development Program at GIBS Business School, University of Pretoria.

Stavros Nicolaou
Stavros Nicolaou is a member of Aspen Pharmacare Holdings Limited Group Executive Committee and is the Group Senior Executive responsible for Strategic Trade Development. Previously he was CEO of Aspen’s Export Business. Aspen is Africa’s largest pharmaceutical manufacturer and a now world leader in Anaesthetics and injectable anti-coagulants. Aspen is one of South Africa’s most globalised multinational companies with a presence in over 50 geographies globally, with 26 manufacturing facilities across 6 continents. He was instrumental in introducing the first generic ARVs on the African Continent developed by Aspen, which has gone on to save hundreds of thousands of lives in South Africa and on the African Continent.
Stavros is a graduate of Wits University and has over 31 years’ experience in the South African and International Pharmaceutical Industry, 27 years of which have been with the Aspen Group or its subsidiaries and is a previous winner of the SA Institute of Marketing Management (IMM) Health Care Marketer of the year Award. He is a previous recipient Monty Rubenstein Award for proficiency in Pharmaceutics from the Wits University Pharmacy Health Sciences Faculty. He was awarded, the Order of the Lion of St Mark by the Greek Orthodox Pope Theodoros II and recently received the title of “High Commander of the Order of the Apostle & Evangelist Mark” of the Patriarchate of Alexandria. He has been inducted as a Fellow of the Pharmaceutical Society of South Africa (PSSA), one of the highest honours bestowed by the PSSA, and was recently awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Medicine from Wits University.
Stavros is particularly passionate about diversity, transformation, championing localisation and building bridges between the private and public sector in order to improve access to treatment for patients in emerging markets and improving healthcare outcomes in these markets. He has been involved in a number of social responsibility and charitable causes aimed at reducing poverty, inequality and assisting economic growth and development in South Africa. He has been a speaker at a number of conferences, including the Economist Roundtable, the World Economic Forum (WEF) and has delivered a lecture on ARV developments at the Raigon Institute, a JV between Harvard Medical School and the Massachusetts General Hospital.

Dr Brian Mubiwa (PhD) is a versatile academic, regional urban planner and compassionate environmentalist. Academically, he holds qualifications in Geography, Applied Remote Sensing and GIS, Environmental Studies, and a PhD in ‘Urban Development, Transport and Energy’. He has been involved in various commissioned projects in policy development, strategy formulation, project management/coordination, joint work planning (JWP), as well as project/programme monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and quality assurance. Those opportunities and experiences have proved valuable platforms to deepen his knowledge in: sustainable development; natural resource management (NRM); biodiversity (ecosystem) conservation, restoration and rehabilitation; climate change vulnerability assessments (CCVA); climate change mitigation and adaptation; ecosystem based adaptation; disaster risk management, and solid waste management. Dr Brian has been working for the UN Environment (UNEP) since 2019, when he joined the UN family in South Africa.

Nancy Ngum
African Union Development Agency-NEPAD (AUDA-NEPAD
Nancy Ngum is a Public Health Expert at the African Union Development Agency-NEPAD (AUDA-NEPAD). Her primary responsibility is Monitoring and Evaluation of the African Medicine Regulatory Harmonisation Programme, coordination of partnerships on health and Pharmaceutical Programmes in Africa. She is also leading the team of experts in Africa tasked to oversee the development of a Regulatory Information Management System and Information Sharing Platform for Africa. She is passionate about patient access to safe, quality and efficacious medical products and has embarked on conducting studies to assess the performance of Regulatory Review Systems with a view to improving patients’ access to Medicines in Africa.
